Legacy Boys Soccer Golden Spikes

The Golden Spikes Award is presented after each game to the Player/Players who stand out in their play. Winners get to wear a special golden jersey during practice.

2015 Golden Spikes Winners

BHS Maroon - September 25 - Eddie Ell was moved from defense up top to forward with the charge to "see ball, kick ball". He did just that scoring the first goal of his career.  Great job Eddie!
Bismarck - September 22 - Conor Wright won the Golden Spikes for his hard work at the midfield.  Conor helped to control the middle of the field for much of the game. 
Bismarck JV1 - September 22 - Bryce Egli played a great second half against Bismarck.  His play kept the JV1 in the game throughout the half.
Mandan - September 19 - Justin Story came off the bench to score the first varsty goal of his career.  Helpng the Sabers to a tie with Mandan.  Great Job Justin!
Mandan JV - September 19 - David Markel won the Golden Spikes in his first JV1 game by scoring the only goal of the game helping JV1 to a victoy over the Mandan JV.
St. Marys - September 3 - Austin Wolf is the Golden Spikes winner for his strong play impacting the game on both ends of field. He impacted play on both the offensive and defensive end of the field throughout the game, great job Austin.
CHS Red - August 31 - Hunter Cady's hard work was evident throughout the game. No one works harder. He kept the back defensive line in their shape. Other players were even mentioning his hard work. Great job Hunter!
CHS White - August 28 - Luke Miller controlled the middle of the field throughout the game. Luke's hard work earned him the Golden Spikes.
Mandan - August 25 - Austin Ellingson's hustle throughout the game earned him the Golden Spikes during the Varisty's tie with Mandan.
Mandan JV - August 25 - Nick Eriksmoen registered the first shutout of the season for the Sabers against the Mandan JV earning him the Golden Spikes. Great job Nick keep up the hard work.

East/West Crossover - Fargo South & Fargo North - August 22 - Cole Svihovec receives the Golden Spikes for his strong play in the goal during both East/West Crossover games. He took charge in the defensive third of the field. Donovan Clark also recieves the Golden Spikes for his hard work on shielding the ball throughout play.

CHS Red - August 21 - Carl Reis - Received the first Gold Spikes of the season for his play in the midfield. He main play maker throughout the game.  He deplayed great energy throughout that game and was willing to play where ever he was needed throughout the game. Great job Carl.

 Conor WrightCole Svihovec & Donovan Clark were named to the All WDA Tournamnet Team.  Great job guys!!

 

 

 

Century White - September 15 - The Golden Spike(s) go to the entire JV Black team for playing hard in what was their best game of the season. They defended and attacked with determination, communicating and supporting each other throughout the game. Well done boys!

Bismarck Maroon - September 11 - Randy Sharp  receives the Golden Spikes for his hard work in the defensive end of the field.  He played high pressure defense and consistently shut down attacking opportunities.

Minot JV1 - September 9 - Ethan Van Vleet for his strong defensive play verses MInot JV1 is awarded the Golden Spikes.  Ethan stepped up and took charge on defensive end of the field helping Legacy to come back and defeat Minot.

Century JV1 - September 4 - Isaac Hoff is awarded the Golden Spikes for his strong defensive play verse Century JV1.  His strong defensive play helped to get several offensive counter plays started down the left side of the field. 

Mandan JV - August 30 - Donovan Clark is awarded the Golden Spikes for scoring the first hat trick of the year for the Sabers.  He also added and assist on the games other goal.  Keep up the hard work.

St. Mary's - August 23 - Austin Wolf is awarded the Golden Spikes for his strong play up the middle on Defense. He was always in good position and won balls in the air throughout the game.

Jamestown JV1 – August 19 - Conor Wright is awarded the Golden Spikes for his finishing play. Conor was able to put himself in the good position throughout the game and score the first goal of the season for the Varsity/JV1. Keep up the hard work. Marcus Reinke is also awarded Golden Spikes for his hustle at outside midfield. He made several great outside runs that lead to some very strong scoring opportunities. Marcus also did a great job of coming back on defense. Go Sabers!

Mandan JV – August 18 – Noah Todd is the first Golden Spikes winner for 2014 for JV Black. Noah anchored the defense up the middle and was able to help direct the defense throughout the game.  Great job Noah!

Grand Fork Central Varsity - August 16 - Nick Janes is awarded the first Golden Spikes for 2014 for his overall control of the game. Throughout the contest Nick controlled the run of play. As center midfielder Nick was able to direct play. Go Sabers!!

 

2013 Golden Spikes Winners

CHS Red - October 1 - Conor Wright - is awarded the Golden Spikes for the CHS Red game. Conor scored the first two goals of the game. He was in a good place to score throughout the game.

BHS JV 1 - September 21 - The Entire Team - is awarded the Golden Spikes for the BHS JV 1 game. The whole team played their strongest 80 minutes of the season. Throughout the game they kept their shape swinging the ball from side to side. They pressured BHS throughout the game. Each them were difference makers in the game. They finished the game strong with chances to tie the game. Go Sabers!

Mandan JV 1 - September 20 - Marcus Reinke - is awarded the Golden Spikes for the Mandan JV 1 game. Due to injury the defense was playing short handed. Marcus stepped up and played defense. He made several great defensive plays. Mark Jensen - is also awarded the Golden Spikes for his strong outside midfield play. Go Sabers!

BHS JV 1 - September 12 - Marcus Reinke - is awarded the Golden Spikes for the BHS JV 1 game. Marcus hustled at outside midfield all game. He made several great outside runs that lead to some very strong scoring opportunities. Marcus also did a great job of coming back on defense. Go Sabers!

CHS Blue - September 9 - Austin Ellingson is the Golden Spikes award winner for the game against CHS Blue. All game Austin frustrated CHS with both his speed and defense. The game was played in very poor field conditions.

Minot 9 - September 7 - Donovan Clark is awarded the Golden Spikes for his strong play in the goal during the first half. He did a great job of coming out of the goal and made several strong saves. He also had a major impact on the offensive push at the end of the game. Minot JV - September 7 - Isaac Hoff Is our Golden Spikes player for the second Minot game. Isaac's ability to play both outside back and center back gives the defense versatility.

BHS White - September 5 - Cole Svihovec is awarded the Golden Spikes for his strong play in the goal during the first half. He did a great job of directing the defensive play and made several strong saves preserving the shutout for the first half.

Mandan JV - September 3 - Conor Wright is awarded the Golden Spikes for scoring the Sabers first hat trick vs Mandan. Austin Ellingson is awarded the Golden Spikes, he played a strong game at both outside back and outside midfield. He also scored his first goal. His versatility impacted the game.

BHS Maroon - August 27 - Nick Janes is awarded the Golden Spikes for his overall control of the game. Throughout the contest Nick controlled the run of play. As center midfielder Nick was able to direct play. Conor Wright is also awarded the Golden Spikes for his finishing play. Conor was able to put himself in the best position time and again to put the ball in the net. Keep up the hard work. Go Sabers!!

CHS Red - August 26 - Michael Kershaw is awarded the Golden Spikes for the Sabers game against CHS Red. Michael's hard work was displayed throughout the game. His understanding of the game and hard work constantly put him in position to impact play while playing outside midfield.
